Operation: Over is being ambitious this spring. So far we’ve had two late-night and festive visits outside of BU President Robert Brown’s house. We’ve held a weekend of direct actions trainings and of visual resistance workshops. We’ve called a boycott of BU and let high school students know about it nationwide. We’ve promoted this boycott by interrupting campus tours and informing prospective students of the boycott and the biolab. We’ve organized a festive counter-recruitment protest, and we’ve brought an independent journalist who has recently come home from Baghdad to speak at a local high school.
We have a lot more in the works. We’ll be holding climbing, blockades, and banner drop trainings on March 11 and 12, and we plan to start coordinating actions and strategies with the rest of the anti-biolab coalition a lot more. We have a plan, and we think we can win.
With that, we’re trying to raise $1,000 in donations by March 20. All of this money will go directly towards funding direct action trainings, supplies for actions, and legal support when we need it. We are an all volunteer group and none of us get paid. We have a lot of work to do. If you support what we’re doing but can’t volunteer your own time, please consider helping the anti-biolab movement and the greater anti-militarism movement by donating money to us.
Please send money via PayPal to operationover@hush.com, or, if you prefer, send checks (made payable to Derek Garcia) or cash to:
